You are probably wondering why you are on this page? Well, you obviously want to know what is on my mind. Otherwise, you would be farting around on Facebook looking at any of a number of posts about local government or local history that are written by wannabees (definition: someone or a group of someone’s who feel they have all the answers) who feel they know everything, and that you most likely cannot trust.

What makes this page different from all the others? Simply because it is based on a lifetime of personal experiences I have lived through. Forty-five-plus years of service in our community on various committees and commissions: 7 successful alderman elections (lost three times in the beginning when I ran against the incumbent); and three successful for mayor (first winning the primary against the incumbent mayor and two other challengers with almost twice as many votes as all three of them combined). I have served as council president many, many times, and chairman of the Board of Public Works for many more years than not. I am most proud of having served as mayor, but especially enjoyed three separate stints on the Fire & Police Commission, once for four years, and later for two years, and most recently for 14 years. No one in Marshfield can compare in experience. They old saying goes: ‘Not bragging. Just fact!”

I will be visiting many local issues and will explore the facts to help you better understand those issues. I will reserve my own feelings on a certain matter for the “OPINION” page, it which case I will express what I feel is either right or wrong.

Subjects change and items on this page will change with them. If you like what you see, tell your friends! I did a similar page in the late 1990’s, and later and was known as “Do You Want to Know What I Think!” It was famous and had many followers. I will include topics from those archives reflecting on subjects that kept city government in the news. Which is something recent councils cannot honestly take credit for. We got things done back then!! Much of what we did has benefitted Marshfield since then and will continue for years to come. In contrast, ask the city council to share something they feel they did positively in the last 5-10 years. They’d be lying if they could think of something. All they do now is spin their wheels and make committees to study everything, and then add more committees. Their largest hoax was the recent “Employee Satisfaction Survey“. Boy, were they surprised when the employees were frank and shaed what they thought about being a city employee and what akes working with the city council such a challenge. Good employees, and I mean some of the best employees – have jumped ship for bigger and better things, and find another employer who will valued their skills and respect their efforts.

All this and more will be part of this web site in the future. If you are concerned with what is best for Marshfield, you will want to follow the new subjects that will be available on a regular basis.

NOW… LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!
